​​RAF Caistor​

​​The airfield was a satellite of nearby RAF Kirton-in-Lindsey. During the war, it was mostly used for training purposes.  

In 1942, the No. 15 Pilot Advance Flying Unit from RAF Kirmington was the first unit to make more extensive use of the airfield. From 1943, there were also occasional visits from US personnel, but all activity at the station ended on 16 November 1944, when the American forces left. 

​Today, the site is used for farming and is private. Some of the infrastructure, including the perimeter tracks that lead down to the farm buildings, can be observed from the road.
